The cold weather is coming, but Ehrhardt’s Waterfront Banquet Center once again offers area residents a way to warm up this Friday with belly laughs courtesy of Souls Joel Productions. “Soul” Joel Richardson, host of The Comedy Point radio show, has brought his own brand of comedy and that of two other nationally known comics to Ehrhardt’s a few nights each year for laughter on the lake. “We’ve been doing this for about 15 or 16 years,” says Ehrhardt’s owner Eric Erhardt, “And we always have a good turnout. It’s always a lot of fun; just good fun entertainment for the local community. Comedy comes naturally to Joey Gay, who performs Friday, Jan. 6, at Lefty’s Tavern in Barnegat. “I wanted to do comedy ever since I was a young boy,” Gay says. “I was watching a comic on ‘The Tonight Show’ with my family, and in the middle of the comic’s set, I turned to father and asked if comedy was a real job. Laughs aplenty as Sherrod Small headlines Soul Joel Productions’ monthly comedy show in Hoboken Kristyna Kane/For The Jersey Journal Last Friday night, those looking to laugh did just that in the back room of Willie McBride’s in Hoboken when around 50 guests attended the monthly comedy show hosted by Soul Joel Productions. SJP founder Joel Richardson was happy to take the stage and play host for the evening.
