Comic Spotlight: Joey Gay

Comedy comes naturally to Joey Gay, who performs Friday, Jan. 6, at Lefty’s Tavern in Barnegat.
“I wanted to do comedy ever since I was a young boy,” Gay says. “I was watching a comic on ‘The Tonight Show’ with my family, and in the middle of the comic’s set, I turned to father and asked if comedy was a real job. I tried other things throughout my years, but was never able to shake the feeling that comedy is what I should do.”
